Leader of the "DNR" Denis Pushilin has told that the Minsk agreements are hindering the unification of the "DNR" and "LNR", although no "republics" are mentioned in them.

"This issue (unification of the fake "DNR" and "LNR" - OstroV) is raised at different levels from time to time, but given that there are Minsk agreements and the current situation, we can inflict certain damage on ourselves, at least in the negotiation process. This issue is not on the agenda", - he said without specifying how the Minsk agreements, in which the occupied territories are listed as certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, can permit or prohibit the merger of the quasi-state entities.

In addition, Pushiln hinted that CADO and CALO intend to unite as part of a "big country". "We will see the further situation, of course, common sense suggests that a big country is better, not only the unification of the republics, this is something more, which is what we are striving for", - he noted, referring to joining Russia.

As reported, it is the idea of the occupied Donbas entering the Russian Federation that fundamentally contradicts the Minsk agreements, since they, first of all, provide for the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine by granting the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas the status of "areas with special order of local self-government".
