The Verkhovna Rada speaker Dmytro Razumkov has denied rumors about possible early presidential election in Ukraine. He said this at a press conference in Kyiv today, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"I am sure that the president will not leave his position, because a lot has not been done yet, only half of the term has passed. He has enough time to work further. Why he should leave his post is a mystery to me. It has no logic", - he said.

According to him, Zelensky's early termination of his powers deprives him of the right to run for the next presidential election.

"We are now talking about the Electoral Code. According to it, I do not remember the article, if the President of Ukraine terminated his powers ahead of schedule, he cannot be nominated for the next presidential election… The President clearly said that he would work further. To go to early election is to close the opportunity for yourself to run in the election further on. We understand that the president definitely does not want this, and we see it in his statements and positions. I completely agree with him in this regard", - Razumkov noted.

Earlier, information appeared in the media that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky could initiate early presidential election.
