Health Minister Maksym Stepanov is not satisfied with the pace of vaccination against COVID-19 in Ukraine. He said this at a briefing in Kyiv today, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"19 118 people have been vaccinated since the beginning of the campaign. I can note right away that these figures dissatisfy me. I set a different task regarding the pace of vaccination, realizing that we are cascading this vaccination. I can say that at the end of last week, we should were to reach 10 thousand people a day, whom we had to vaccinate, and further increasing this number", - he reported.

The minister noted that his deputy, chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Viktor Liashko is responsible for the vaccination process.

"Today, I decided to get involved in the situation personally in order to significantly increase the number of vaccinated in the coming days. We will hold a selector today, which will be attended by the heads of regional administrations, representatives of the President's Office and health departments, who are local coordinators", - Stepanov said.

As previously reported, only 19 118 people have been vaccinated in Ukraine since the beginning of vaccination against COVID-19.

In early February, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal promised that 50 mobile teams would work at the initial stage of vaccination, 1500 vaccination rooms and 50 centers in large cities would be deployed. It was planned that one mobile team would carry out about 100 vaccinations against COVID-19 a day.
