The amount of the untapped capacity of Ukraine over the past 10 years is 1 trillion dollars. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at the presentation of results of the country's audit, - Economic Pravda writes.

The largest share in this figure is occupied by natural resources. According to the head of government, the correct use of mineral resources can bring Ukraine $409 billion.

"There are more than 12 thousand proven mineral deposits in Ukraine. Only a third of them are being developed. In fact, this is a little more than 4 thousand areas that are currently being developed", - Shmyhal said.

He stated that an increase in the extraction of mineral resources does not mean an increase in the export of minerals abroad as raw materials.

"This means creating a basis for creating high-tech value-added products. We have oil and gas, we have ores and precious metals", - Shmyhal said.
