The "court" of the so-called "LNR" has sentenced a resident of the occupied territory of Luhansk oblast to 12 years in prison for "cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine". This is stated in a message on the website of the "LNR MSS".

"The Supreme Court of the Luhansk People's Republic sentenced citizen of the LNR Yuriy Merzly to 12 years in prison for committing high treason in the form of espionage", - the report says.

"It was established during the investigation that, being in Ukraine, Merzly was recruited by employees of the SBU joint operational group with a deployment in Lysychansk as an agent for intelligence activities… The tasks were set to collect and transmit military and socio-economic information", - the message also states.
