The Verkhovna Rada could not even put changes in the electoral system for the election of people's deputies, proposed by President Zelensky, on the agenda, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

92 people's deputies out of 226 voted for the relevant decision.

The changes proposed by President Volodymyr Zelensky offered to cancel the majoritarian system and reduce the passage barrier for the parties to 3%.

At the same time, closed party lists remained, what caused dissatisfaction of the prople's deputies. In particular, the factions of the PPB, Popular Front and Radical Party insisted on open lists.

After the people's deputies failed to include bills on the agenda, speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy closed an extraordinary meeting of the parliament.

As previously reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky issued a decree on the early dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada and announced early parliamentary election to be held on July 21.
