Ukraine will never recognize Russian passports issued on the territory of the "DNR" and "LNR". This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers today, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"We have never recognized and do not recognize any citizenship that the aggressor's country issues (to residents of the occupied territories - OstroV). This is how Germany issued Ausweis for certain people. We have our passport - Ukrainian, of which we are proud and which is a symbol of freedom and democracy", - he stated.

Groysman also announced that the government would decide to recognize all passports that will be issued to Ukrainians in the "DNR" and "LNR" as illegal.

"They will be declared illegal when crossing the state border and in use on the territory of our country", - he said.

According to the Prime Minister, those bodies that will deal with the issuance of Russian passports will also be declared illegal.

"This is our clear response to aggressive actions to issue fake passports to citizens of Ukraine", - the head of government noted.

Groysman stated he would turn to international partners so that these passports would be invalidated for crossing the borders of other countries.

As reported, on April 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the simplified receipt of Russian passports by residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine, and on May 1 – a decree that simplified the procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship for other categories of Ukrainian citizens.
