About 25 square kilometers of territory formerly occupied by Russia was returned under the control of Ukraine during the year of the JFO. This was reported by the JFO commander Serghiy Nayev on Facebook of the special operation.

"Thus, from the beginning of the Joint Forces Operation, without violating the Minsk agreements, about 24 square kilometers of territory was returned under our control, including three settlements (Khutir Vilniy, Pivdenne and Shumy)", - he said.

As previously reported, given the creation by the Russian Federation of full-fledged military commands at the level of army corps on the territory of CADLO and their inclusion in the eighth combined army of the Southern Military District led to the reformatting of Anti-Terrorist Operation into a military Operation of the Joint Forces. The reformatting process was completed on April 30, 2018.
