Sergey Tkachenko, who previously held the post of head of Donetsk regional branch of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine, is now representative of the Secretariat of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe. He wrote about it on Facebook.

"Now I can say frankly that on Monday I officially represent the Secretariat of the Venice Commission (European Commission for Democracy through Law) in Ukraine. The focus and programmes of the Venice Commission are very similar to what I did for many years in Donetsk CVU: electoral reform, constitutional reform, the military conflict in the east of Ukraine", - wrote Tkachenko.

According to him, "new work will find new opportunities in terms of efficiency and impact points on the promotion of the resolution of the above mentioned issues of concern in the country."

"In the near future we will hold a general meeting in Donetsk CVU at which the new composition of the governing bodies will be elected and a new development strategy will be approved. But I do not leave the public activity and remain committed to our team, our common values and principles. I invite everyone to cooperate and visit the Council of Europe Office in Kiev," - he said.
