Risk of an open military conflict with Russia is higher than last year. President of Ukraine Petro Porosheko stated it in his interview with the German Bild, - reported UNIAN.

"The threat of the open war is now higher than last year. Russia has not fulfilled anypoint of the Minsk agreements. On the contrary: now we can see 8,000 Russian military and commanders in Donbas. New military units of the Russian Federation are directly located on the border and exercises are held regularly," - said Poroshenko.

"Russia is investing much into preparation for war and we do not receive any explanation for this," – added the President.

As reported, Poroshenko assessed positively the results of the negotiations with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin on February 1st, 2016. Both partie confirmed the common vision on the fulfillment of the Minsk agreements and extension of sanctions.
