Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Presidential Administration called disinformation the media reports of the possible direction of Ukrainian troops to Syria to fight against IGIL. Ambassador-at-large of the MFA of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba stated it to Ukrainska Pravda.

"It is fake. We are actively cooperating with partners to end the conflict in the Middle East. But we aren’t talking about the use of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the region, particularly in Syria and Iraq" - he stressed.

"Our partners don’t address us with such requests, knowing that in the conditions of Russian aggression, our army is needed at home," – added Kuleba.

As previously reported, the British Independent newspaper reported that allegedly direction of the Ukrainian military to Syria to fight IGIL will be discussed during the visit of US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter to Kiev this week.

The publication wrote about the alleged document with the options drawn up by the Ministry of Defense, which supposedly should be the subject of discussion during the visit of US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter.
