The SBU has confirmed the fact of carrying out searches and detaining the head of RIA Novosti Russian agency. This was reported by the SBU speaker Olena Gitlianska on Facebook.

"…I confirm the searches are really carried out in the office of RIA Novosti of Ukraine, its leader was detained. We have a valid evidentiary base, which will be made public after the completion of investigative activities", - she noted.

As previously reported, the SBU and the Prosecutor's Office of Crimea conducted searches in the office of Kyiv media structures controlled by Russia. According to Russian media, Russian journalist Kirill Vyshynskiy was detained. The detention was carried out on the street next to his house. Vyshynskiy, who is the chief editor of RIA Novosti-Ukraine, is listed in Myrotvorets database, has Russian awards for information support for the Crimea occupation.
