Recently, an increase in the number of shelling and concentration of military equipment in the line of contact is being registered in the Donbass. This was announced at the Forum on Security in Kyiv today by the NSDC secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, - correspondent of OstroV reports.
"Recently, we are observing an increase in the number of shelling and blatant use of heavy weapons, prohibited by the Minsk agreements. Furthermore, we have information from the observers about the concentration of heavy weapons, tanks and artillery in the contact line", - he reported.
He recalled that in the Donbass, "the Russian aggressor is represented by two corps of more than 35 thousand people and several battalion task groups.
"These two corps fulfil the function of just coverage and gaining time for the deployment of the main military forces of Russia, which today are concentrated on the Ukrainian border", - Turchynov noted.
"In the Donetsk operational direction, the 150th division of the 8th Army of the Russian Federation has turned around near the Ukrainian border and is ready to start armed hostilities at any moment", - the NSDC secretary said.
According to him, as many as 260 thousand Russian troops, 3500 tanks, 11000 armored vehicles, about 4000 artillery systems, more than 1000 multiple rocket launcher systems and so on can be used against Ukraine today.
"These are the realia with which Ukraine lives today", - Turchynov noted.
