Most UN countries support the idea of introducing a peacekeeping mission to the Donbass. President Petro Poroshenko said this during a meeting with the residents of Avdiivka, - the presidential press service reports.
"I do everything to ensure that peacekeepers are in the Donbass. And this means that the Donbass will stop shooting. This means that we, together, have brought peace to the Donbass", - he said.
According to the President, the peacekeepers will be able to take control of the uncontrolled section of Ukrainian-Russian border, so that troops will not return again, ammunition and tanks will not be delivered. "In order the UN authority and the strength of the UN Security Council guarantee us that people with weapons will no longer shell either Ukrainian soldiers or Ukrainian civilians", - the head of state stressed.
