The General Prosecutor's Office completed the pre-trial investigation and submitted an indictment against the former president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to court. This was announced by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko today at a press conference in Kyiv, an OstroV correspondent reports.
"Today, as we promised, the representatives of the General Prosecutor's Office, namely the military prosecutor's office, submitted Yanukovych's case to the court. This is unprecedented not only because this is the first trial of the president of the Ukrainian state. I consider this event very important, because for the first time the Ukrainian court will consider the accusation of high treason of the leader chosen by the nation, and the court will issue its verdict", - he said.
