“We are all united in our pursuit of a just and lasting peace that the people of Ukraine deserve. We firmly support President Trump’s position that hostilities must be immediately ceased, and the current line of contact should serve as the starting point for negotiations. We remain committed to the principle that international borders cannot be changed by force”, - reads the joint statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
It is noted that the joint statement on peace for Ukraine was signed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Antonio Costa, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, Finnish President Sauli Niinisto, and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
