Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry representative Lin Jian called the purchases of russian oil “legitimate”. He added that the United States is engaged in “intimidation” and undermines international trade. The Indian Foreign Ministry, in turn, did not confirm that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Trump on Wednesday and promised him to give up russian oil.
As previously reported by The Telegraph, Donald Trump’s administration intends to propose to European allies to impose high tariffs on China for buying russian oil and to use the proceeds from such tariffs for military aid to Ukraine.
