“A gas leak, preliminarily, became the cause of an explosion in a multi-story building in Alchevsk. As a result of the incident, two people were killed, and apartments on the eighth and ninth floors partially collapsed”, - the occupation authorities of the “LNR” reported on social media on October 13.
It is noted that seven apartments were heavily damaged in the explosion in the Alchevsk apartment building. Also, 41 windows were blown out in six buildings, and 104 windows in the stairwells. In a nearby school, about 40 windows were shattered by the blast wave.
“The prosecutor’s office has begun an investigation — a legal assessment will be given to the actions of those responsible, including regarding compliance with safety regulations for gas equipment”, - the occupation agency wrote.
