“Today I can announce the allocation of the first 10 million euros for the creation of a special tribunal to investigate russia’s crimes”, - said the head of European diplomacy Kaja Kallas on October 13 at a press conference in Kyiv with Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiha, reports Radio Liberty.
In May, a meeting of EU foreign ministers was held in Lviv to launch the work of this tribunal.
“Russian leaders are responsible for this war, and if there had been no crime of aggression, there would have been no subsequent atrocities. Therefore, no one should go unpunished for the crimes committed”, - emphasized the EU representative.
In addition, Kallas announced the allocation of another 6 million euros to support Ukrainian children deported by russia and victims of sexual violence.
“Today we are allocating another 6 million euros to support the care of children deported by russia and victims of sexual violence. This will help ensure proper care for the victims of these crimes”, - she said.
The head of EU diplomacy also stated that the European Union has already mobilized 800 million euros to support Ukraine during the winter and plans to provide another 100 million euros, which will go toward generators, shelters, and equipment for protection against harsh weather conditions.
