“At the Feodosia oil depot, the fire is intensifying, and the flames are spreading to new fuel tanks; because of this, smoke and soot have enveloped the city in a dense cloud”, - writes Krym.Realii, citing a local activist on condition of anonymity.
“Vacationers and tourists have left the city en masse, only those who have vouchers in sanatoriums remain. Residents of Feodosia are trying to send their children to relatives and friends, just to get them away from the soot that has descended upon the city. The situation is very serious, but the local authorities are keeping silent about it and are taking no measures to work with the population on this problem”, - the activist said.
The activist’s words are confirmed by statements from russian blogger Alexander Sergeev (Gorny), who moved from moscow to Koktebel after the russian occupation of Crimea.
“The Feodosia district. The authorities and deputies are silent, Sergei Aksyonov is silent, and we have nothing to breathe here! The cloud of soot has descended on Stary Krym, Nanikovo, Koktebel. My throat burns and my head spins. This is an environmental catastrophe, and they remain silent! Your silence will lead to people being poisoned! Close your windows, turn off air conditioners, wear masks! Take care of yourselves!”, - the blogger appealed to his followers.
