"The elimination of the consequences of the disaster continues in Odesa. Rescuers have completed search operations. As a result of the bad weather, 10 people died. At the same time, more than 380 residents were rescued", - reported on October 2 the Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba.
According to him, water has already been pumped out at more than 60 sites and the infrastructure prepared for further restoration. About 30 more remain in progress. Most of the water accumulated in underground parking lots, from which more than 15 thousand cubic meters have already been pumped out.
"A separate priority is the quick clearing of shelters. Out of 42 flooded ones, water has already been pumped out of 40 and their readiness restored. Work is still ongoing at two facilities. Local and regional authorities are also helping people clear their homes after the disaster", - noted the Deputy Prime Minister.
Kuleba also reported that starting today, a commission begins work to investigate the causes and circumstances of the tragedy, as well as commissions to survey housing for further compensations. The hotline of the single citizen contact center 15-35 is operating. An additional line 15-01 has been added. Yesterday and today, more than 500 calls have already been received on hotlines and emergency services.
"Due to the disaster and as a result of night russian shelling, 46 thousand households in the city remain without power.
