Activists of the resistance movement "Zhovta Strichka" ("Yellow Ribbon") unfurled the flag of Ukraine near the "Donbas Arena" in occupied Donetsk in honor of the Day of Defenders of Ukraine. They reported this on their Telegram channel.
"While our defenders are fighting for our destiny on the battlefield, we continue our resistance in Ukrainian Donetsk. For 11 years the occupiers have not been able to subdue the city, and the flag of Ukraine that you see in the photo is direct proof of that", - the statement reads.
The activists emphasize that even under occupation, Donetsk remains Ukrainian, and such actions are a symbol of resilience and a reminder of the struggle for freedom.
