The UN Security Council approved a resolution on the war in Ukraine proposed by the United States. In it, russia is not referred to as the aggressor. This was revealed in the broadcast of the Security Council meeting, which was aired by "Suspilne".

The American resolution was supported by 10 countries, while 5 abstained. At the same time, the amendment proposing to "end the Ukrainian conflict" by addressing its "root causes", which was put forward by russia, was not considered.

Russia’s representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, expressed outrage that the russian amendments were ignored but added that the American resolution could serve as a "starting point for further efforts toward a peaceful settlement".

It should be noted that earlier, the UN supported both versions of the resolution—Ukrainian and American. The first was backed by 93 countries, while the second received the support of 89.
