"Around 6 a.m. on April 10 in the vicinity of the western coast of Crimea, a Mi-24 helicopter crashed", - the statement said.
The ministry did not confirm the information that appeared on social media about the aircraft being shot down as a result of "friendly fire". "According to preliminary data, the cause of the crash was a technical failure", - reassured the russian Ministry of Defense.
Earlier, the representative of the Ukrainian Navy Dmytro Pletenchuk reported the crash of a russian helicopter in the occupied Crimea. According to his version, a Ka-27 was destroyed.
