Russian forces carried out a missile strike on the Ukrainian capital on the morning of March 21, with the number of casualties reaching 10, including an 11-year-old girl, as of 6:23 a.m.. This was reported by the mayor of the capital, Vitalii Klychko, and the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Serhiy Popko on Telegram.

"The number of casualties has increased to ten. Two of them have been hospitalized, while others received medical assistance on-site. Specifically, six people were injured in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital, and four in Sviatoshynskyi", - wrote Klychko at 6:23.

"After a 44-day pause, the enemy launched another missile strike on Kyiv. The russians used cruise missiles X-101/X-555/X-55 from the strategic bombers Tu-95MS and ballistic missiles from the territory of the russian federation. The air raid sirens in the capital lasted almost 3 hours. After complex maneuvers in neighboring regions, the missiles approached the capital from different directions simultaneously. Approximately thirty enemy missiles, including ballistic ones, were intercepted by the air defense forces over Kyiv and its vicinity", - clarified Popko.

According to preliminary data, as a result of the missile strike in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital, a multi-storey residential building was damaged with an apartment catching fire, leading to the evacuation of residents; at another location, cars caught fire; and explosive waves damaged windows in some houses.

In the Sviatoshynskyi district, debris damaged a preschool educational institution building, and damage to a multi-storey residential building was also recorded, with cars on fire in this area as well.

In the Podilskyi district, debris fell onto the territory of a non-residential building and onto the roof of a residential building, causing subsequent fires; a fire on the roof of a non-residential two-story building was also recorded.

"All emergency services are working at the scene, and the elimination of the consequences of the missile strike continues", - noted Popko.

He also reported that there were no fatalities.
