Valerii Zaluzhny and Kyrylo Budanov have been awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. The respective decrees No. 61/2024 and No. 57/2024 were published on the website of the Office of the President on February 9.
"For outstanding personal merits in protecting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I hereby order that General Valerii Zaluzhny be conferred the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the Golden Star", - the document signed by Zelensky states.
"For personal courage and heroism during the defence of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I hereby order that Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov be conferred the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the Golden Star", - it is stated in another decree.
Earlier, Zaluzhny announced that a decision had been made to "change approaches and strategy" and expressed gratitude to everyone.
