U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, speaking at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, stated that he does not see a nearing ceasefire in Ukraine in the near future, as russia is not currently ready for sincere negotiations. This information is reported by Interfax-Ukraine.

Responding to a question about whether he sees progress toward negotiations for a ceasefire in Ukraine, Blinken said, "Right now, I don't see that".

"We are always open to it, attentive to it, because more than anyone else, the Ukrainian people want it. But on the part of russia, there must be a readiness to engage, to negotiate in good faith, based on the fundamental principles that were called into question as a result of its aggression: territorial integrity, sovereignty, independence", - emphasized Blinken.

He noted that putin is ready to continue involving "his young people in the meat grinder that he himself created, trying to advance his interests".

"This is a deep tragedy for russia", - Blinken said.

Earlier, former russian president medvedev stated that the mere existence of Ukraine "will be a constant reason for the resumption of military actions".

It was also reported that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken mentioned that almost all the aid allocated to Ukraine as military assistance from the U.S. had been spent on productions in the United States, positively impacting the economy.

Additionally, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. discussed the possible ways to achieve peace with russia.
