The Ukrainian Armed Forces are fortifying the border with Belarus in the Chernihiv oblast, according to Serhii Naiev, the commander of the AFU Joint Forces. He wrote this on Telegram.
"Today in the Chernihiv oblast, as in the entire Northern operational zone, the situation is stable and under control", - Naiev wrote.
The commander explained that on the most critical fronts, defenses and positions of the first and second defense lines are actively being equipped.
"We are preparing for resistance, and together with the Chernihiv Oblast Military Administration, we are taking measures to strengthen our defense", - Naiev noted.
According to him, if the threat escalates, additional forces will reinforce the prepared defenses, and Ukrainian fighters will be ready to respond adequately to any developments.
Previously, the Joint Forces reported the number of mines laid on the border with Belarus.
It was also reported that Poland deployed a new tank battalion on the border with Belarus.
