Ukraine and the United States have signed a Memorandum on Join Defense Production and Exchange of Technical Data on December 7. The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, announced this in his Telegram channel.

"A very important success – at the defense industry conference in Washington, Ukraine and the United States signed a Memorandum on Joint Production and Exchange of Technical Data. The Memorandum defines the localization of the defense industry in Ukraine", - wrote Yermak.

He emphasized that production facilities must be built in Ukraine to provide the Armed Forces with necessary weapons in the areas of air defense, critical ammunition production, as well as repair and technical maintenance.

"The U.S. Department of Defense and industrial partners will provide Ukraine with technical data to initiate the local implementation of specific projects aimed at modernizing outdated air defense systems through the integration of Western munitions", - noted Yermak.

He underscored that this is the "foundation for the future of our defense industry and the strengthening of Ukraine's defense for years to come".

Earlier, it was reported that Yermak, Stefanchuk, and Umerov met with President Biden's National Security Advisor Sullivan.
