Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Syrsky, notes that there is a significant decrease in the need to mobilize substantially fewer than 500,000 people into the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He made this statement in an interview with Ukrinform.

When asked if there is a need to mobilize another 500,000 people into the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Syrsky responded: "After reviewing our internal resources and clarifying the combat composition of the Armed Forces, this figure has been significantly reduced. We expect to have enough people capable of defending our homeland. This includes not only those mobilized but also volunteers".

The Chief Commander of the Armed Forces emphasized: "It is important to consider that people are not robots. They become exhausted, both physically and psychologically, especially in combat conditions. For example, those who joined the territorial defense units in February 2022 are in need of rest and treatment. It is sufficient to remember that the combat 110th brigade has been engaged in action on the Avdiivka direction since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. They need time to recover and rest, and this is an objective necessity. There are many such units. Currently, we are reassessing the strength of certain units not involved in combat based on an audit of their activities. This has allowed us to release thousands of servicemen and redirect them to combat units".
