The Kuibyshev Oil Refinery (KOR), owned by Rosneft, in russia has been forced to shut down both of its primary oil processing units after a fire, thereby halting production completely. This was announced on March 28 by two industry sources, as reported by The Moscow Times Telegram channel.

The statement reminds that the fire at the KOR, which occurred last Saturday due to a drone attack, damaged the primary unit. However, the refinery was later forced to halt the second primary oil processing unit. According to one of the sources, it was not affected during the attack but could not continue operating as it is technologically linked to the damaged first unit.

According to calculations by Reuters, the total capacity of the primary oil processing units, which are currently in emergency shutdown due to external factors, as of March 25, was 124,580 tons per day, accounting for 14% of the total capacity of active primary units at oil refineries in russia.
