The United Nations Security Council did not vote in favor of the resolution proposed by russia for a ceasefire between Israel and the Gaza Strip, which did not include condemnation of the actions of the terrorist group HAMAS. This information is reported on the official UN website.

The russian-drafted resolution received five "in favor" votes (China, Gabon, Mozambique, russia, and the United Arab Emirates), four countries voted against it (France, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States), and six countries abstained (Albania, Brazil, Ecuador, Ghana, Malta, and Switzerland).

The document included a call for an immediate ceasefire for humanitarian purposes, the release of all hostages, access to humanitarian aid, and the safe evacuation of civilians.

The US Permanent Representative to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, stated during her address that russia had introduced the resolution without any consultations.

"The resolution doesn't mention HAMAS; there is not a single word about it. By not condemning HAMAS, russia is covering for a terrorist group that has brutally targeted innocent civilians who are not involved in any wrongdoing. This is outrageous. It's hypocritical and unforgivable", - she said.

As previously reported, the UN equated Israel's demand for the evacuation of Palestinians to a "war crime".
