Leader of the "DPR" Alexander Zakharchenko denied residents of the pseudo republic to hold a referendum on accession to Russia. He stated this during the so-called "on-line conference with residents of Donbass".

The leader of the militants of the "DPR" doubts "whether such a referendum is needed?".

"Can we solve the problem of joining Russia today if we will say "yes" at the referendum? I'm not sure, to be honest. Have you asked Russia about it?" – said A. Zaharchenko responding to a question about a possible referendum on the accession to the Russian Federation.

In addition, the "DPR" has no financial capacity to hold a "referendum" - made the "head" it clear.

"Do we have money to carry out the procedure without guarantees of success in the end ... I am a supporter of the fast life, but in this case I’d prefer not to hurry?" - said A. Zaharchenko.

Instead of accession of the "DPR" to Russia which he promised to pro-Russian residents of Donetsk region in 2014, the militant asked them to get involved in the construction "of the republic".

"We held a referendum on independence and we haven’t yet met the goals set on May 11th, 2014. Maybe, we should, first of all, become an independent state, shouldn’t we?" - he said.
