The authorities of the "DNR" want to issue a medal in honor of the first anniversary of the annexation of of the Donetsk oblast by russia. Denis Pushilin, the leader of the "republic", wrote about this on Telegram.
In line with russian propaganda, he referred to the internationally unrecognized "joining of new regions to the russian federation" as a "reunification".
"We have decided to establish a commemorative medal in honor of the first anniversary of the acceptance of the DNR into the russian federation", - he wrote.
The design of the medal is being kept secret, but Pushilin promises that the "artistic design of the award is based on a reinterpretation of the russian medal-making tradition in the context of modern history".
