Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky chaired a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, at which the Commander of the Eastern Group of Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky reported that his units stopped the enemy and even pushed it back in some directions. The head of state wrote about this in his Telegram channel on May 12.
"The Staff. We heard a report from General Syrsky, whose units made superhuman efforts to stop the enemy and even pushed it back in some directions. General Tarnavsky also reported on the current situation in the JSGF (Joint Strategic Group of Forces – ed.) Tavria. The JSGFs Odesa and North are also under control. We identified their top priority needs and learned about the pace of equipping new brigades with equipment and ammunition", - Zelensky noted.
According to him, the reports of chief of staff Zaluzhny, minister Reznikov, the General Staff and minister of strategic industry Kamyshin were also important.
"We checked all our long-term contracts for the supply of ammunition and missiles", - the president added.
