Almost 800 thousand IDPs will need housing, and everything is being done so that they have a place to live and spend the winter. Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk stated this live on the Joint Telethon, - Ukrinform writes.

"As for the need for temporary housing, almost 800 thousand citizens of Ukraine have lost their homes. Modular housing, like the rest of the construction, is handled by the Ministry of Regional Development, they have programs that provide appropriate money for this. As you know, there are programs together with the Polish and other governments – there are already the first modular towns, but they are definitely not enough", - Vereshchuk said.

She noted that she saw an example in the Chernihiv region, when people do not really want to live in modular towns, because they lived in their own private buildings. As they say, they want "at least one room, but in their garden". But this has yet to be achieved.

"We must already tell the fact that housing will not be built in sufficient quantities this year. The fact that people will move and the heating season will be difficult is indeed also true. But the fact that we are engaged, for example, in housing, insulation, reconstruction and replacement of boilers, that we are doing everything so that the displaced people have a place to live and where to spend the winter is also a fact", - the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

Vereshchuk voiced a forecast that about half a million more people will move from east to west in the autumn, which will be an additional burden on those who have already left earlier.
