Four ceasefire violations were recorded in the area of the Joint Forces Operation on February 2, - the JFO headquarters reported. The occupiers opened fire from an under-barrel grenade launcher in the area of responsibility of the North operational force near Krymske, and from large-caliber machine guns and small arms – near the Pivdenne. The Russian-occupation forces opened aimed fire from grenade machine gun and heavy anti-tank grenade launcher in the area of responsibility of the Esat tactical force near Pavlopil. The armed formations of the Russian Federation were firing aimed sniper fire towards the Ukrainian positions not far from the settlement of Shumy. A soldier from the Joint Forces was critically injured as a result of a sniper shot. He was promptly provided with medical assistance, but, unfortunately, it was not possible to save the warrior.
Creator of the terrorist Vostok Battalion Alexander Khodakovsky supported the intentions of the CADO occupiers to declare "conscription into the army under the contract". He wrote this on his page on the social network. "There was talk that it would soon be possible to be drafted into the army not under the contract. A limited recruitment of young people who have reached draft age is expected as a trial "balloon", although this age has yet to be determined. As well as the duration of military service, its principles and purpose is to be determined. Most likely, we will talk about the principles I predicted: solution of the internal tasks of the army without being involved on the front line", - the former leader of the militants suggested. He considered such a decision necessary, despite the expected "avalanche of criticism". "My opinion on this matter is known, and if Pushilin decides to implement this plan, he will be right. I suspect that there will be a lot of negativity, criticism and arguments "against" even before the start of this event, and after the launch of the program, there will be an avalanche, because we, as it always has been, will try to turn any good undertaking into a cartoon – let it be. The "DNR" militants drowned out Ukrainian radio broadcasting in occupied Donetsk, having blocked it with Russian radio stations. This was reported by eyewitnesses on social networks. It is known that the so-called "Ministry of Communications of the DNR" drowned out the Army-FM radio station of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on 87.6 MHz, replacing it with the Children's Radio Russian station. In addition, the Promin radio Promin on 96.5 MHz is now also unavailable. Instead, local residents are forced to listen to Radio Russia.
Leader of the so-called "LNR" Leonid Pasechnik explained the rise in prices for all housing and utilities services in the occupied Luhansk region, "as part of the implementation of the state target program for reimbursing lost earnings for housing and utilities services". At the same time, the "LNR" leader addressed the leaders of the occupation administrations locally with a warning that "the ongoing… measures should be aimed at preventing the growth of social tension among the population". 171 new cases of coronavirus infection were "officially" diagnosed in the occupied territory of Donetsk oblast on February 1. This was reported by the so-called "Ministry of Health of the DNR". In addition, another fatal case was registered. In total, 20 597 cases of the disease were confirmed in CADO as of February 2, 7884 people are being treated and 1804 people have died. Thus, the mortality rate is 8.76%, which significantly exceeds the mortality rate from coronavirus in the free territory of Ukraine and in the world. The occupiers also reported that 67 cases of "usual" pneumonia were detected over the day, which is 35 cases more than on the previous day. Of these, 56 patients were hospitalized. A total of 1451 patients with pneumonia are being treated, of which 647 are on oxygen support (+27 over the day).
Suburban train Debaltseve-Kumshatsky-Torez (new name of Torez - Chystiakove) on the occupied territory of Donetsk oblast will stop near Nikishyne. This was reported by separatist media with reference to the "DNR" clone of the Donetsk Railway. It was specified that Nikishyne is located in the north of the Shakhtarsk district, between the Ridkodub and Kumshatsky stations. The distance to each of them is about 3-4 km. Previously, the villagers had to get to one of these stations in order to use the railway transport. One of four automobile checkpoints on the "border of the DNR and LNR" is also located in Nikishyne. Now it does not operate due to the restrictions of the occupiers, which they attribute to the spread of coronavirus infection.
