Payments for more than 22 thousand persons have been suspended in Mariupol, - reports the press service of the Mariupol Сity Сouncil.

As of February 25th, 97780 forced migrants were registered in the district offices of social protection of population of Mariupol, 32,275 of whom receive targeted aid for forced migrants to pay for housing and communal services.

On February 16th the district department of social protection of the population received a letter from the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine on the issue of identifying numerous cases of failure to confirm the declared data on the actual place of residence of migrants. Then, on 02.17.2016 the district department of social protection of the population of Mariupol received a letter from the Department of Social Protection of the Population of Donetsk Regional State Administration on the suspension of social benefits and targeted aid for housing and communal services to persons identified in the lists received from law enforcement agencies.

"In accordance with the above letters, employees of social protection of the population are checking lists of forced migrants. So, in the Ordzhonikidze district lists of 10130 people have been checked. Payments to 7510 forced migrants have been suspended. In Illichovsk district lists of 17817 people have been checked, payments to 11435 forced migrants have been suspended. In Zhovtnevoye district lists of 9062 people have been checked, payments to 488 forced migrants have been suspended. In Primorye - 3500, payment to 2928 citizens have been suspended,"- said the statement.

Thus, the total number of persons who are left without payments, is 22 361 people.

It is noted that the social benefits to citizens are suspended until Migration Service confirms data on the actual place of residence or confirmation of fact living at the place of payment by migrants.

The PFC received 68,909 applications from pensioners on the transfer of pension affairs of Ukraine from temporarily uncontrollable territories and receiving pensions in Mariupol. The number of recipients of pension payments of forced migrants is 58 349 people. Pension payments have been suspended for 10 640 forced migrants due to failure to confirm the fact of residence in Mariupol.
