President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Volodymyr Yelchenko ambassador of Ukraine to the USA. This is stated in decree 911/2019.

"To appoint Volodymyr Yelchenko Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States of America", - the decree said.

Yelchenko was born on June 27, 1959. His diplomatic career began in 1981 in the department of state protocol of the MFA of Ukraine. He served as deputy head of the MFA, State Secretary of the MGA, Ambassador of Ukraine to Russia from 2010 to 2015 and Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN from 2015.
