The new law on the special order of local self-government in certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts can capture the Steinmeier formula. This was said to journalists today by MP from Servant of the People Iryna Vereshchuk on the sidelines of the parliament, - correspondent of OstroV reports.
"We are talking about the notorious Steinmeier formula that can and should be, I believe, implemented, but the same law should provide for safety moments that should precede such an implementation", - she reported.
"If we have the opportunity to resolve the conflict in the Donbass pointedly, not theoretically, but practically, we should consider such options", - Vereshchuk added.
As previously reported, the Verkhovna Rada would consider the extension of the law on the special order of local self-government in certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts until December 31, 2020 at an extraordinary session on December 12.
Servant of the People, in turn, stated that it intended to develop a new law on the "special status" of CADLO over the next year.
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on October 1 that Ukraine agreed on the text of the Steinmeier formula. According to him, the formula provides for the adoption in Ukraine of an interim law on the special status of Donbass, which will become permanent provided that the OSCE recognizes the local elections in these territories as democratic.
