The updated draft state budget of Ukraine for 2020 provides only a slight increase in pensions. This was announced by Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk, presenting the document, - UNIAN writes.

"Of course, pensions will be indexed, they will grow, but they will grow not much, unfortunately… This requires quite a serious resource and the economy needs to grow much faster", - he said.

The draft budget provides for the allocation of $7 billion to cover the Pension Fund deficit.

According to the Pension Fund, the total number of pensioners in Ukraine is 11.3 million. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the budget of the Pension Fund of Ukraine for 2019 with subsidies to cover the deficit in the amount of $6.7 billion. At the same time, the deficit of the PFU this year is about $1.2 billion.

As previously reported, the Cabinet approved the draft budget in the second reading and will send the document over to the parliament.
