A solemn meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of the 9th convocation began in Kyiv, - correspondent of OstroV reports.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and members of the government, former presidents of Ukraine, and foreign guests attend the meeting.
The newly elected deputies will take the oath of allegiance to the country. By tradition, the text of the oath will be read by the oldest deputy - representative of the Opposition Platform - For Life Yuliy Ioffe.
Early parliamentary election was held on July 21. As a result, the Servant of the People party will be represented in the Verkhovna Rada of the 9th convocation by 254 deputies, Opposition Platform - For Life - by 43, Batkivshchyna - by 26, European Solidarity - by 25, Voice - by 20, as well as self-nominated candidates.
Thus, the pro-presidential Servant of the People party will be able to form a monocoalition in the Verkhovna Rada without the participation of other political forces for the first time in the history of independent Ukraine.
