Presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky has stated he would hold a pre-election debate with presidential candidate Petro Poroshenko at the NSC Olimpiyskiy on April 19. He told this in his video message to voters.
"My debate with Poroshenko will take place at the NSC Olimpiyskiy on April 19. I will be able to ask him any question. For example: When will the arrests begin? Why are the Svynarchuks not behind the bars?", - Zelensky said.
However, he did not comment on the statement of Petro Poroshenko, who invited him to the stadium for debate on April 14.
As previously reported, the CEC unequivocally stated that the official debate between candidates for the presidency of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko and Volodymyrr Zelensky, can only be held in the studio of Suspilne TV channel on April 19. This provision is enshrined in resolution of the Central Election Commission No. 472 of May 5, 2014. Official debate is held at the expense of the state budget, managed by the CEC. As for the debate at the NSC Olimpiyskiy, this event can be considered as a pre-election campaign and should be paid from the candidates' electoral funds.
