Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine returned home a student of the Vinnytsia university, who had been illegally detained by the militants of the "LNR". This is reported by the press center of the department.

Law enforcers established that in 2017, a native of Luhansk oblast together with his parents went to occupied Luhansk to deal with some property issues. During his stay in the city, together with the patriotically-minded locals, he raised Ukrainian flag near the school where he had previously studied.

The patriots also painted national symbols on the facade of the educational institution. The youths were detained by members of illegal armed groups and were held in the building of a local penitentiary institution. At the same time, they were interrogated by representatives of the so-called "Ministry for state security of the LNR", who used the means of psychological and physical pressure.

As a result of an effective operation, the SBU officers managed to get the illegally detained student to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities and returned to him to Vinnitsia. Based on the materials of the SBU Directorate in Vinnytsia oblast, criminal proceedings were opened on part 1 of Art. 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
