Russian border guards have detained a Ukrainian fishing vessel (port of registration - Ochakiv) west of Cape Tarkhankut in the annexed Crimea. This was stated in press service of "Russia's FSB Border Department in Crimea", - Krym Realii reports.
The vessel was detained allegedly for "illegal fishing."
"YMK-0041 Ukrainian fishing vessel (homeported in Ochakiv, Ukraine) was detained", – the report said.
The department claims that several kilometers of nets were seized in the course of inspection. The ship and crew of five citizens of Ukraine were brought to Crimea for further legal proceedings.
The Ukrainian MFA has not yet commented on the detention of Ukrainian citizens.
