The Verkhovna Rada wants to accept a statement about Ukraine's non-recognition of the legitimacy of the Russian presidential election. This was announced by head of the People's Front faction Maksym Burbak at the coordination board of the parliament today, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"There was a formal reappointment of president for the next term in Russia yesterday… These are illegitimate elections of the illegitimate president… These elections were announced by the illegitimate Duma, which was elected in the temporarily occupied territory in 2016. It was like choosing the president in the occupied Crimea. Only on this basis, Putin cannot be considered a legitimate president of the Russian Federation, let alone a widespread violation of human rights in organizing the electoral process in the occupied territory", - he said.

According to him, the Verkhovna Rada should approve the resolution, which should "give a political and legal evaluation of the farce, which is called the presidential election in Russia".

Burbak reported that the draft resolution No. 8153 had already been registered in the parliament regarding Ukraine's non-recognition of the legitimacy of the Russian presidential elections, their results, legal consequences and, accordingly, acts of person, illegitimately elected to this post.
