A number of cities and towns of the Donetsk oblast can be left without water supply because of the unwillingness of occupation "authorities" of CDDO to solve problems in restoring infrastructure. This is stated in the report of the Ukrainian side of the JCCC, - press center of the ATO headquarters reports.

On January 26, pumping station of the South-Donbass water pipeline was shelled by the militants. As a result, the cooling system of one or two transformers, intended for the power supply of the station, was damaged. This led to a critical 50% reduction in the reliability of facility as a whole.

"The slightest failure in the electricity supply system can cause the pumping station to stop completely. The population of the whole south-western direction of the Donetsk oblast, namely: Volnovakha, Krasnoarmiisk and Dobropillia districts, cities of Donetsk (Kuibyshevskyi, Kirovskyi, Petrovsky and Leninskyi districts), Avdiivka, Mariupol, Volnovakha, Krasnoarmiysk, Dokuchaievsk and other cities and towns (49 settlements in total) with a population of more than 1.3 million people, will become at risk of termination of water supply", - the report said.

The Ukrainian side of the JCCC coordinated the necessary repair and restoration works, carried out by the experts of Donbass Water public utility company. For that end, security guarantees were received from the AFU.

The militants, in turn, do not give such guarantees of security.

The enterprise had already sent the requests therefor with the assistance of the OSCE SMM twice - on January 26 and January 30. However, a response from CDDO has not yet been received.

The Ukrainian side of the JCCC notes that occupation authorities of CDDO thus create in advance the preconditions for emergency situations on both sides of the line of delineation.
