President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko introduced the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on April 28, 2017, which provides for the ban of Yandex, Mail.ru, VKontakte and Odnoklassnikі. This is stated in the relevant decree number 133/2017, published on the website of the head of the state.
According to the annex to the document, the decree prohibits ISPs from providing Internet access services to Yandex resources/services for a period of three years. In addition, the sanctions include blocking the assets of this legal entity, restricting trade operations, preventing the withdrawal of capital from Ukraine, stopping the implementation of economic and financial obligations, limiting or stopping the provision of telecommunications services and the use of public telecommunications networks.
