The "DPR" actively spreads rumors that allegedly Ukrainian soldiers started to mine Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Plant located on the territory controlled by Ukraine in order to blow up it and cause an ecological disaster. This precarious information was said to separatist media by Eduard Basurin who calls himself "the deputy commander of the operational command of the DPR".
"We became aware of the preparatory activities for mining of Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Plant by the Ukrainian military. Ecological and humanitarian catastrophe will happen in the Donbass in the case of blowing up of this plant. In other words, it will be the use of chemical weapons against the population. This is a real planned terrorist attack", - Basurin said without confirming his words by any facts.
As previously reported, the militants of the "DPR" held a series of massive attacks of Avdiivka with heavy weapons in late January – early February. As a result, the uptown has suffered, and Coke and Chemical Plant turned out to be on the edge of closing. ACCP is a part of SCM structure owned by Rinat Akhmetov.
