The Council of the European Union is expected to approve additional sanctions against russia on Monday, July 13, in response to its massive attacks on Ukraine, European Pravda reports, citing its own EU sources.

According to the report, the additional sanctions, previously announced by the EU's top diplomat Kaja Kallas, are expected to be adopted on July 13 during the meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council.

The proposals for the new restrictions against russia were submitted last Friday following another massive russian bombardment of Kyiv on the night of July 2. According to the sources, the sanctions have received broad support.

On Wednesday, the Committee of Permanent Representatives (Coreper) discussed the new measures and decided to forward them to the Working Party of Foreign Relations Counsellors (RELEX) for preparation ahead of their approval on Monday.
